The International Drawing Project – Submissions

If you are a photographer or drawer of any description with an interest in self-published ‘zines and books, then this project will be well worth your attention. Hosted from the UK by Cafe Royal Books, The International Drawing Project was initiated last year to form a “comprehensive survey of contemporary international drawing”. With all submissions displayed in a standardised manner, the resulting exhibition is “curated as if it were a book”.

This year the project takes the theme of “communication and/or dissemination of ideas”, and call for submissions has extended beyond drawing to books, zines, publications generally and photography. Although the theme is broad, founder Craig Atkinson says “it is really to encourage people to consider the ideas of dissemination and communication in a cross platform context combined with their own work or practice”

If you want to be involved the deadline for submissions is 28th February. Submissions can be physical or digital and successful applicants will be included in a catalogue including essays from Sarah Bodman, Lawrence Zeegen and Joerg Colberg. See the website for details.
