Black Cracker & Boychild at Platoon Kunsthalle

Wednesday, July 17

“The struggles mounted in boychild’s performances thus far are ferocious and wrenching; the body is shaken, inhabited, made wild by the energies that flow through it. boychild, I dare to propose here, is in the process of birthing a new form of being, a new kind of embodiment, and her movements shake her and us to the core. boychild’s performances are elemental, savage and sweet, a kind of visitation not from the future but from some other concept of temporal sequencing altogether”, from gender theorist Jack Halberstam‘s Angry Women: Boychild in the Wilderness.

In conjunction with the iconic local ladies’ blog Eve Without Adam, the otherworldly, strange, wild and captivating, boychild will be giving an exclusive performance entitled “Body Self” at Platoon Kunsthalle. Boychild is a performance artist whose work is known for challenging and transforming our preconceived notions of gender, sexuality and race.

Doors at 20:00, performance at 21:00, and support by Black Cracker.
