This month the Contemporary Food Lab will be orientated around the subject topic ´Stillstand´. And it is within this context that we are delighted to present two works of Alicja Kwade
which will be on view in our Exhibition Space: 24 Stunden and Stellar Day (23 Stunden, 56 Minuten, 4,099 Sekunden).
Alicja Kwade (born 1979 in Kattowice,
Poland) lives and works in Berlin, where she studied at the Universität der Künste until 2005. In 2014 she will have solo exhibitions at Edition Block, Berlin, Galleri Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen and Kunstverein St. Gallen. Her past solo exhibitions include: Kunstmuseen Krefeld, Haus Esters, Germany (2013); Skulpturenpark Köln, Cologne (2013); Kunsthal 44 Møen, Denmark (2012); ZKM Karlsruhe, Germany (2011); Oldenburger Kunstverein, Germany (2011); Kestner Gesellschaft, Hannover, Germany (2010); Westfälischer Kunstverein, Münster, Germany (2010). She recieved the Robert Jacobsen Prize in 2010 and the Piepenbrock Prize for Sculpture in 2008.
